Three spaulted pine bowls.  SHMBO ( She who must be obeyed) wanted a popcorn bowl for her father so I did the center one.  She said that it was too big and wanted a smaller one so I did smaller ones for her father and step mother.   All were finished with mineral oil.  This gives a food safe finish and is easily refreshed periodically by just poring a couple ounces of mineral oil in the bowl and spreading it around.  Let soak for a day and wipe out the excess.  All three were turned slightly concave so they would fit comfortably and stable between your legs when the recliner is leaned all the way back.

  It must be genetic but all the males I asked thought that the original bowl is just the right size.
