Mounted on 4 jaw chuck with the square face plate sitting on the banjo.  I usually use this arrangement when turning large stock.  Since the jaws are independent it allows me to static balance the piece.  This was RF dried material which checks less and turns better than air or kiln dried material.  It still turns with a lot of tear out unless the speed is high, tool is very sharp and you take shallow cuts.
