The smaller is a 16' by 32' mainly for turning. It has heat, air conditioning, cable TV, Replay unit and small regenerator for soft drinks. The larger 24' by 42' is just a metal pole barn which is impossible to heat or cool. This is where most of the messy stuff is located such as welders, table saw and planer. Shops are connected with covered walkway. On the side is the 4' by 8' trailer used to haul off saw dust. My house is located in the trees.

Interior of the small building highlighting my $150 Powermatic drill press. When the guy said $150 I said sold, sight unseen. Behind the drill press is the Legacy 1500 which I have since sold.

The Powermatic 3520A with bed extension to 10'.

Delta contractor saw on the left and a Ryobi sliding table saw on the right. The Delta is fixed and the fence is adjusted to it. The Ryobi will pivot on the front right corner so it can be aligned with the fence. Thus the fence can be used for both saws. The sides of the fence are Corian. Blast gate can be seen under the Delta.

Still have to finish enclosure of Delta for dust collection and run duct work to Ryobi. The Ryobi is a surprisingly a nice saw. At $160 from Home Depot it has a 3 HP direct drive with plenty of torque it is a definite keeper. Plans are to set it at 45 degrees and leave it there.

South view of larger shop.

West view with the miter and metal cut off saws with rollers on both sides.

The larger 24' by 48' shop. I should have used the painted steel roofing instead of the galvanized metal. Notice the hanging AC outlets painted in yellow. Just recently replaced the horizontal part of the trusses with 1/2" square steel. Also plated the 2 by 6's with 3/4" plywood plates for strength. There is a 4' wide 3/4" plywood gussets at the peak. Truss calculator shows that this modification is stronger the original plus really opens up the shop. There are 8 double 8' fluorescents for lighting.
