Before and after of cedar funeral urn. Rough turned the outside and then sprayed 4 VERY heavy coats of poly to retard drying. Cut it in half and turned the inside leaving 3/8" wall and sprayed 4 coats of poly. Glued back together and finished turned, sanded and sprayed 6 heavy coats of lacquer. Because I woopsed on the cut and grain of two piece was a poor match I cut a 1/2" wide by 1/8" grove and filled with WoodEpox. A 1 1/2" hole is in the bottom with plug which will be glued in once the urn is filled. Normal size of a urn is 220 cubic inches. I pour in rice until urn is full and the pour the rice into a container to find out the volume of urn.
