My first commercial job

6' and 10' fir 8" by 8" posts milled into octagon.  Fir is bad about tear out and I found that a metal cutting end mill worked best.  Because of tear out fears I did the transitions by hand.  I milled the flats using the surfacing in Mach.  On the second one I started the job and left to do errands.  While I was gone I kept worrying if I was creating an expensive piece scrap of wood or what the customer wanted.  When I got back a hour later I was met with success!
