My business card.  This is a business card that no one throws away.

Glued up blank mounted on chuck.  I don't trim the corners.  Just crank up the speed to about 2000 RPM and start rounding the  blank.  Notice that the live center is inside the hole just in case the piece comes loose it won't fly across the shop.

Turned to final size, sanded and sprayed with lacquer.  I have the piece turning 5 to 10 RPM when I spray.  The speed is fast enough that the VERY heavy coat will not run but slow enough that the centrifugal force will not force it to high part.  It just sits in place and levels.  Lets me put on the equivalent of 4 or 5 coats sprayed the normal way.  Let it sit 5 or 10 minutes and remove.  I use this technique with every thing I spray.   You can't tell but the hole is threaded with 1 1/2" by 5 threads per inch.

Different sizes, different shapes with threaded peg installed.  Woods used in this batch include popular, walnut, pine, red oak, mahogany, red cedar and teak  Back row is sitting on some of the 1 1/2 " mahogany all thread used for pegs.

The 2" recess I drilled to mount the piece on the chuck with my business information inside. What else can you call this but a Square Peg in a Round Hole !!   People may not remember my name but they remember my card when the see me.  I answer to " Mr. Square Peg in a Round Hole" . Price is $18 each in lots of 25 or more.  Freight included in the continental US.
